This product is only for use in adults.
This product is marketed for use in patients that receive intensive care unit (ICU) in hospitals, nursing homes, long-term rehabilitation facilities, hospice and assisted living facilities.
This product should not be used for acute diarrheal disease, as it may cause serious liver dysfunction.
Patients with weakened immune systems may have an increased risk of adverse reactions. Therefore, there is a potential risk of hypersensitivity. This is increased in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin, ampicillin, cephalosporins, norfloxacin, or fluoroquinolones. This product may produce adverse reactions such as rash, fever, and/or nausea. The most common adverse effects are pain in the extremities, headache, and abdominal pain.
A patient with an increased risk of hypersensitivity to these types antibiotics may be encouraged to discontinue use. This product may be discontinued and switched to a different antimicrobial.
Patients, care providers, and caregivers - please note that if you are taking this product in the hospital, your care provider may have a different prescribing instructions for use than your pharmacy.
If you are taking this product and experienced the serious reactions described above, you are encouraged to seek immediate medical attention and contact a Poison Control Center. This product should be prescribed with caution to prevent serious problems.

Patients with a history of food reaction, asthma, severe anaphylactic reactions such as anaphylaxis and/or an extremely rare intestinal condition such as Clostridium difficile can also take a reduced dose of this product. Please consult with your physician or healthcare provider.
The recommended starting dose for Reduced Antibiotic is 1/4 to 1/3 teaspoon per 24 hours. The total daily dose should not exceed 10% of a normal dose. The recommended dosage may change depending on the severity of reaction (see below). The dose of 2,000/1,000mg should be the generic pharmacy price list started slowly.
